Bringing Spring In With the New Pine-Sol Spring Blossom + Free Printable

pine-sol spring blossom

There is no denying that Spring is almost here. With the snow finally melting, I am cautiously optimistic that I can soon pack away all of our winter clothes and pull out our rain boots and jackets. I much prefer dancing in the rain to shoveling driveways.

Over here the changing seasons also mean massive cleanings. If I am already swapping out wardrobes I may as well be purging and doing a deep clean, am I right? Something wonderful happens to me when I can open all the windows up in my house and turn off the heat. Maybe it is the promise of more daylight hours or the fact that I know my moods will improve but I buckle up hard and commit a few days to do some serious cleaning.

My mother-in-law and hubby feel my cleaning vibes loud and clear. Our oldest are lucky enough to go on a weekend sleepover so that I can purge their belongings in peace and my husband takes those little ones on walks to the local parks now that they are no longer covered in snow and ice.

It is in these moments when I am finally alone that I feel at peace. I put on my favourite music and start to clean. Between the sounds of Bob Marley and Justin Beiber (don’t judge!) I tackle the junk drawer that has somehow become not only the drawer but every cabinet that had a nook or cranny for me to stuff a random bill or rogue earring. I tackle that horrible place behind the toilet that I have been pretending does not exist. I move the fridge and stove out and clean up a season’s worth of spilled food and dirt.

I zone out and conquer the mess. I am a cleaning super person–but only when the seasons change. Otherwise, I am just trying to tackle the mess–one stray Cheerio at a time. If you are looking for a spring cleaning checklist you can download mine for free here.

Pine-Sol Spring Blossom

When I was asked if I wanted to try out the new Spring Blossom Pine-Sol I had to think about it. Pine-Sol has long been a cleaner I assumed was a strong, manly scent and to be honest I am a more floral scent lover. Especially in the spring when I am thinking of planting my veggie garden and flowers out front. Cleaning with the windows open to bring in the fresh spring scents can now be done from the inside out.

I don’t know what I expected when I received my bottle, but I think it was a pine/floral mix. It is not. It is a beautifully pungent floral smell that brings the combination of Jasmine, Magnolia and Orange Blossom at arms reach. It is the smell of the spring bouquet without the flowers. I may have stood in my kitchen huffing the bottle of Pine-Sol Spring Blossom for a few minutes while dreaming of warmer days.

But then the real work has to happen right. You have to clean. Pine-Sol Spring Blossom not only cleans but also deodorizes. It is a multi-surface cleaner so the same thing you use on your kitchen counters you can use on the toilets and also the floors. It cuts through the 3 months of grime that has landed between my stove and the counters and my toilets are so clean that you could lick them–I wouldn’t but you know what I mean.

This huge bottle can be found in grocery and discount retailers Canada-wide. If flowers are not your scent of choice there are other options and at $4.49 for 1.4 L (that can/should be diluted) it’s a great price.

Now tell me your cleaning tips, tricks and hacks so I can do this season’s clean efficiently.

I don’t have any great suggestions, other than using Windex spray for a quick clean of our bathroom floor (after dry dusting the floor with a used fabric softener sheet): We use hairspray, and Windex removes the residue extremely well. On alternate weeks, we clean the floor with an all-purpose cleaner such as Mr.Clean.

I also think of Pinesol as a strong scent cleaner, and for that reason don’t use it. I will have to try this one!

I love Pinesol because it kills germs, gets everything really clean and it smells so good. But I prefer the original pine scent because it always makes me think my house is clean.
