Oral Health: Results You Should Be Aware Of

oral health habits

Oral Health.

I never really paid much attention to my teeth until I got older. My husband on the other hand, has had it ingrained into his brain from a young age that healthy teeth are the backbone to overall health. I basically had to change my whole way of life to make this guy marry me…and be impressed with my clean and healthy smile.

Arm & Hammer Dental wanted to get to the bottom of the great debate (I made that up there is no great debate) surrounding the oral health habits of Canadians so it surveyed a whole bunch of us Canucks.

The results?

Thankfully the good folks at Arm & Hammer™ Dental know that looking at a fancy infographic will go a lot further then rambling off a bunch of stats. Are you surprised with these results?

How to Keep Your Oral Health in Tip-Top Condition

In an effort to help us out in our oral health game, Arm & Hammer™ want everyone to know about all of the great new products in the Truly Radiant™ Lineup. We have been using these for a few months. I alternate between this and a really strong whitening toothpaste as my wine consumption rate had really sky-rocketed over the summer. As a daily oral care system I trust it to take care of my whole families teeth (sans baby) and even the kids don’t complain about the “mint-i-ness” of it. Basically, the two times this summer that those little monsters brushed were tear free and whine free.

First up is Arm & Hammer™ Truly Radiant™ Clean & Fresh Toothpaste . With an improved taste and four different cleaning agents to clean and whiten teeth its a great addition to your routine. It also boasts three different freshening agents to held get and maintain long-lasting fresh breath. Great for people like me that basically ingest raw onion for all meals of the day.

We all need a vessel for our toothpaste and the Arm & Hammer™ Spinbrush™ Truly Radiant™ Clean & Fresh Battery-Powered Brush is what we use in our home for one simple reason, it’s electric and so much easier to use. I know brushing my teeth is not a hard task but when I have the dual action head scrubbing a million miles an hour (not a real speed) I can truly feel like I have the fresh from the dentist clean. The special floss tip bristles clean deep between teeth (because we all read the artical this week saying that flossing was not actually important) so you can omit the extra step.

The whole Arm & Hammer line-up is pretty impressive:

·         Arm & Hammer™ Truly Radiant™ Clean & Fresh Spinbrush

·         Arm & Hammer™ Truly Radiant™ Clean & Fresh Toothpaste

·         Arm & Hammer™ Truly Radiant™ Clean & Fresh REPLACEMENT HEADS

·         Arm & Hammer™ Kid’s Spinbrush™ My Little Pony™ Battery Brush

·         Arm & Hammer™ Kid’s Spinbrush™ My Little Pony™ Manual Brush

·         Arm & Hammer™ Kid’s Spinbrush™ Paw Patrol™ Battery Brush

·         Arm & Hammer™ Kid’s Spinbrush™ Paw Patrol™ Manual Bruch

·         Arm & Hammer™ Kid’s Spinbrush™ Disney Descendants™ Battery Brush

When we get a package in the mail from them there is literally a free for all between the kids and hubby over the brushes. If only the kids were as eager-beaver to use them*

*Once the school year starts my husband and I are diligent when it comes to the kids teeth. They are brushed every morning before they leave the house as we refuse to have others judge us over our foul-smelling mouthed children. We’re vain like that.

I learned that 4 out of 10 Canadians stay away from foods like garlic and garlic, followed by using baking soda to brush their teeth. I have done both of these. I try to brush my teeth after every meal, and always first thing in the morning.

only 51% of Canadians floss once a day! I always make sure to floss before bed and I will floss throughout the day if need me (if i feel I had something in my mouth that stuck to my teeth) I have been told by my dentist to floss after every meal though so I am going to try to get into the habit of doing that. When I was younger I never flossed and was close to having gingivitis

I was surprised to learn that only 54% of people brush their teeth twice a day. I know growing up my mom would remind me all the time to brush my teeth every time I have a meal – so that is 3x a day basically. Knowing this fact is quite alarming in oral health.
