Help for Spring Cleaning

Help for Spring Cleaning

Everyone looks forward to spring and having a clean an organized home can help us start spring with a fresh outlook. A clean home has even been shown to improve mental health. But not everyone enjoys spring cleaning or has the time to do it all themselves. That’s when it’s time to consider hiring help. But what who should you hire? There are two basic kinds of help you can hire for your spring-cleaning projects: non-professional and professional.

Which should you choose? Let’s look at both to see what they offer.

Costs

The most appealing aspect of hiring non-professionals is the cost savings. A high school or college student will likely accept a job at a fraction of the price of a professional. If your budget is tight, you may be tempted to settle for people looking for that type of work.

Knowledge

However, there are some disadvantages to consider regarding non-professionals. For starters, you may spend an extraordinary amount of time explaining how to perform the job. In contrast, you could skip this step with pros, saving you time and stress.

Equipment and Safety

Non-professionals are unlikely to have all the special equipment needed to complete the chores. For example, the job may require everything from an extension ladder to a power washer.

You also need to remember that there’s always the possibility that a worker could sustain an injury while working on your property. As a property owner, you are responsible for making sure your home is safe and free of hazards. If a worker is hurt on your property, you may be liable for their injuries. This situation could pose a financial risk to you and your family if the worker is a non-professional. Professionals will have the proper insurance to protect them in case of mishaps.

It’s best to spend money on a professional cleaning or handyperson service. The level of quality you’ll receive will outshine even the best a conscientious non-professional is likely to offer.

Cleaning Services to Consider

Gutter Cleaning

Professionals can clear your gutters of leaves and trash safely. They know how to use ladders properly. They also have extended sprayers to flush the gutters clean.

Exterior House Washing

Your home may not need painting. It may simply need a good washing. But washing a house with anything but a power washer is a long, tedious, and inefficient task.

You can rent a power washer. But beware. They’re not as easy to use as you may think.

A power washer can generate tremendous force. It takes an experienced person to use a power washer so that it doesn’t accidentally strip paint, break windows, damage plants, or injure people or pets.

Rug Cleaning

Rug cleaning sounds like something anyone could do. However, there’s a reason hotel, executive office suites, and retail stores hire professional rug cleaners. You simply can’t duplicate their results using the basic rental equipment available to homeowners. Once you see the amount of dirt removed, you’ll be sold on the service.

Window Washing

Think twice before asking a non-professional to clean second and third-story windows. Instead, hire a professional. You can relax, knowing they have a safe method of reaching the most inconvenient windows.

Deep Interior Cleaning

Some areas inside your home may require too much effort to do alone. For example, you might find it difficult to get on your knees to clean behind the refrigerator. You could need help removing grease and grime from the oven or eliminating mildew from bathroom tile.

It’s doubtful you’ll find a non-professional who knows how to handle the task. But a professional deep cleaning maid service tackles these kinds of assignments weekly.

Make Spring Cleaning Easier with Hired Help

Spring cleaning can be quicker and more successful if you have assistance. But only if you have the right kind of help.

You’ll have to decide whether to use non-professionals or professionals. Just remember, many of the typical spring cleaning routines benefit having an experienced, well-trained worker on hand.

Thank you so much for sharing! If I’m being honest, I’ve never cleaned out my gutters haha. But, one thing I do every year, is calling somehome to help with my spring cleaning. It makes such a difference in my home. Especially with kids and pets always playing on the carpets.
