Signs that Self-Care is Not Your First Priority

If you have been under a lot of stress lately then it is understandable that you may not be that focused on putting self-care first. This is understandable, but there are things you can do to try and turn things around for yourself. If you need some help getting started then all you have to do is take a look below.

You Feel Tired for Tomorrow

If you feel as though you could easily conk out right in the middle of a work meeting or if you feel like getting up from a nap after you wake up then this is a major sign that you are overdoing it. If you want to do something about this then one thing you can do is try and take the time to unwind before you go to bed. Don’t just sleep and then wake up, because if you do then you will never feel as though you are getting the rest you need.

You’re Making Mistakes

Another huge sign that you are not making self-care your priority is if you are putting things in strange places. It may be that you are putting the milk away in the cupboard or that you find your car keys in the fridge. If you do this then you may find that you end up losing focus elsewhere in the day and this can seriously affect your career. If you want to do something about this then you need to give yourself a chance to reset. Take a day off and start to focus on yourself. If you can do this then you will soon find that it is easier for you to get yourself back on track as a whole.

Your Waistline is Growing

Another sign that you are not putting yourself first is if you feel as though your waistline is growing. It may be that you are constantly eating snacks rather than eating full nutritious meals and this is the last thing you want if you are trying to watch your health. It may be that you take the time to boost your physical activity and that you focus more on the things you can do to try to cut back while preparing healthy meals in advance.

Your Skin is Poor

If you have skin that isn’t bright or if you feel as though it is blotchy and spotty then this may be a sign that you have too much cortisol in your system. Take a day off and even visit a highly rated medspa if you want to do something about this. When you do you will find that you can begin to put yourself first and this will work in your favor. If you want to help yourself then you can even talk to your boss to see if you can lessen your hours at work, as well as using a top-rated moisturizer as this will keep your skin looking great. It will also hydrate it, which is a major issuforin those who do not practice self-care as much as they should.
