To fully reap the benefits of life we need to have balance and the same goes for our vaginas ladies. The topic may be taboo but finding the proper balance of yeast, lactobacillus and other bacteria for your lady bits is crucial to having good feminine health. Sometimes it’s as easy as taking RepHresh™ Pro-B™ Probiotic daily to help keep things balanced.

What is the Ideal Vaginal pH?

When we’re talking about pH levels we’re discussing the acidity levels and the ideal vaginal pH level is between 3.5 to 4.5.  When your pH sits at this ideal level it means you’re housing good bacteria (lactobacilli) and don’t have excessive levels of the bad bacteria that cause odour, irritation and can cause infections. This is the happy medium and where you want to stay.

Once that pH goes up above 4.5 it welcomes the bad crowd ‘down there‘. Bad bacteria can grow and if it flourishes enough you can end up with a not fun infection called bacterial vaginosis that will let you know it’s presence with abnormal vaginal discharge, odour and you guessed it, irritation. Not exactly the feeling you want at the hub of your femininity.

The Causes of an Elevated Vaginal pH

You can expect elevated vaginal pH from menstruating, using tampons, having sex, using feminine wipes/washes/cleansers or even pregnancy and menopause. During your period, blood hits your normally ideally pH’d ‘hooha‘ with its super pH of 7.4 elevating levels. I never even thought that tampons would be wreaking havoc but they retain all these fluids that your body is trying to evict.

Personally, I never needed a pregnancy test to tell me I was pregnant, the arrival of bacterial vaginosis told me each and every time. Not exactly the best way to break the happy news but with the increase of hormones in my body my pH also decided to up its presence.

The truth of the matter is that we can’t get around some of the things that make our vaginal pH rise but we can take the steps to give our vajayjays a fighting chance.

RepHresh™ Pro-B™ Probiotic Feminine Supplement

I’ve started taking a slew of supplements. I actually started a couple of years ago and lost 30 lbs doing it, then I got out of the habit when I was rehabbing my knees after knee surgery. I guess it was too painful to stand long enough to get all of those pills out. Anyway, cinnamon pills can help you lower blood sugar which can help you lose weight. Chromium Picolinate is a fat burner. I also have tried Manganese, Potassium, Vitamin C, a multi vitamin and probably a few other things. I cut down on the amount of soft drinks that I drank and cut down on the sugary deserts and snacks. I didn’t have to cut them out all together, just cut down.
