How to Make Your Bathroom More Luxurious

When it comes to creating a luxurious home, it might be that your bathroom is overlooked. However, this could actually become one of the most luxurious rooms in your house, where you’ll be able to enjoy some self-care and pampering, and it will usually only take a few tweaks. Of course, if you have a larger budget, you can make larger changes, so we’ve put together a list of a few of the ways you can make your bathroom more luxurious, whatever your budget might be. Read on to find out more.

Upgrade The Fixtures and Fittings

To start your bathroom transformation, focus on upgrading your fixtures and fittings. This doesn’t mean the larger items, like your bathtub, basins, or toilet (although again, if you want to and your budget allows for it, you can certainly do this), but instead means the smaller things, like taps, showerheads, and towel rails.

If you switch older versions of these for nice new ones, your entire bathroom will instantly look a lot more luxurious and up to date. Consider finishes like brushed chrome or nickel for a really modern effect.

Create A Spa-Like Atmosphere

If you want your bathroom to feel really luxurious, you could give it a much more spa-like feel. One way to do this is to change the colours you use, making everything much more muted, perhaps by using pastels. You can also include materials like wood or stone, as this will make it feel like a spa, but it’s also very eco-friendly.

When it comes to additional items, get some really soft towels, scented candles, diffusers for essential oils, a great bathrobe, and some mats for added comfort. Make sure you do what you can to create an environment that makes you feel relaxed and pampered, just like you would in a spa.

Install A Shower

If you don’t have a shower in your bathroom, it can be a good idea to install one if you want to make the space more luxurious. You could even remove the bathtub and install a shower instead if you don’t have much space. Although you might assume that a bath would be the most luxurious thing, it’s a shower that will generally make you feel invigorated and relaxed, so this can often be a better option.

If you install a shower, make it as good as it can be. Install a rainfall showerhead, for example, as well as adjustable body jets for a refreshing and invigorating experience. At this point, it’s wise to check your water heater, too; an old water heater might not give you the flow of hot water you’ll need to enjoy your shower, and it could be time to think about a water heater replacement if this is the case.

Have Good Lighting

The right lighting in your bathroom can make a big difference in how luxurious it feels. When you are thinking about your lighting, add a mix of task lighting and ambient lighting to create a good balance and to ensure that your bathroom is as functional as it is luxurious.

You could install a statement chandelier or a pendant light as the focal point, but also have adjustable wall lights to help you see in the vanity properly, for example. Take your time working out where the lights should be and what they need to do, and get an electrician to help if you need to make big changes.
