Aeroplan Mile Matching Week is Happening Now!

Aeroplan Mile Matching Week is Happening Now!

There is no time like the present to donate your Aeroplan Miles to the Air Canada Foundation in support to its Hospital Transportation Program. From December 3-9, Aeroplan will match each mile donated, up to 500,000 miles, to help get sick children and a parent travel for needed medical care only available away from home, doubling the impact of the already amazing program. Their Aeroplan Mile Matching Week is always a huge success and it’s so easy to help contribute.

Aeroplan Mile Matching Week

If you take the time to read Auguste’s (pictured above) story on the Air Canada Foundation’s website, you will understand why donating helps make such a difference.

Auguste was born without an auditory nerve and diagnosed as deaf. He needed to fly to Los Angeles five times in order to receive a revolutionary implant that required brain surgery and the Air Canada Foundation Hospital Transportation Program made it possible.

The Air Canada Foundation Hospital Transportation Program has benefited hundreds of children, and their parents, who have needed to get medical treatment that was not offered close to home since its introduction. On average, the Air Canada Foundation donates close to 10 million Aeroplan Miles to the 15 pediatric hospitals across Canada yearly and the Aeroplan program has brought in over 1 billion miles since it was first started in 2006.

Travelling by air allows kids to get to and from treatment quickly and back to the things that matter like family, school and their regular routine. It takes away stress for families that are already facing so much, by taking away the worry about “how we’re going to get to treatment?”.

Anne-Josee Laquerre, Director, Social Purpose and Sustainability, Aeroplan said: “Each and every mile donated to the Air Canada Foundation has the power to significantly impact the lives of children and their family” and it is such a simple thing to do if you are an Aeroplan Miles Member.

To donate your Aeroplan Miles, please visit aircanada.com/Foundation and select the “Donate” button located on the top banner or visit the Aeroplan Donation Program, Air Canada Foundation page here.

Another way to support the Hospital Transportation Program is to automatically donate two percent of all miles accumulated on a monthly basis to the Air Canada Foundation by simply updating the donation opt-in on your profile page on aeroplan.com.

I love this but because I collect airmiles I very seldom get aeroplan and then they keep expiring the ones I do have. I thought that wasn’t even allowed anymore!
