5 Benefits of Having our TV in our Room: You’ll Love It

I know that there are some pretty big skeptics of the whole ‘TV in the bedroom’ thing, I was one myself, but things change. People change, circumstances change, TVs and remotes change. We bed share with our kids so it never really made sense to have a TV in the bedrooms because once they fell asleep I was running out of that room faster then you can ask “where’s the remote?”.

Now that our kids are older though I can really see the benefit of having a TV in the room. I still sleep with our youngest in our bed but he has mastered the art of sleeping with the TV on.

5 Benefits of Having a TV in your Bedroom

  1. I don’t want to watch Dora, or LaLaLoopsy, or Narcos, or any other show that is not MY SHOW. I can sneak away for an episode or a season while the rest of the family takes over the main floor.
  2. A great way to keep a sick family member occupied while they are sick. I legit quarantine family members that are sick. I refuse to let the whole family go down when we get sick. It’s a careful formula of my Feel Better Right Away Soup, cut up onions all over the house (swear it works) and Netflix binging in the bedroom while the rest of the family stays as far away from the sick person as possible. I am a few colds away from installing a sliding door window like they have in jails to deliver meals I am that serious.
  3. Cuddling up in bed watching family movies before bed is sometimes the best way of reconnecting as a family. 6 people on a king-size bed is cozy and reminds me of why I love having such a large family.
  4. TV in bed is just better. Period. Like cuddling up with all these blankies and pillows while putting on your fave show or maybe a new one is top of my list for a great time. I am pretty sure I just revealed that I am secretly 65 years old but staying home and relaxing is HEAVEN.
  5. If the kids wake up earlier then us we can put on one of their faves to keep them occupied while we get the last few minutes of shut eye we so desperately need. Beauty sleep is real, we all need it, and don’t judge us for trying to squeeze a little more in. Plus the cuddles–BONUS.

Hisense

Last year we got a Hisense TV and it has truly changed our lives. We promised we would not let the kids use it but as you just read we have. When you turn the TV on it is almost instantly connected to the WIFI and we can hook up to either Netflix or Youtube on demand. It is part of the H7 series that is top-notch 4K quality. Being a part of the Netflix Stream Team you can bet I am streaming all day long. THIS TV IS MADE FOR NETFLIX. Maybe not just Netflix but it has a Netflix button on the remote and that’s enough for me. And if you have not streamed Netflix in 4K you are missing out because that stuff is crystal clear and really immersive.

If 4K is not your thing you may like their H5 series, which is more focused on top-quality features for everyday watching.

  • 1080p resolution for crystal clear images with vibrancy
  • Ultra-smooth motion minimizes shaking during fast-paced scenes
  • Built-in WiFi, Ethernet, and 3 HDMI ports make connecting all devices easyhisense canada tv

Hisense may not be a name you think of when you think TV’s but it should be. It is a big China-founded brand that is growing rapidly in the 4K technology field in Canada, they even have manufacturers in Ontario! To check out their whole lineup take a look at their website!

Not really. I love the snuggling part of it, but I’d rather have no tech in my bedroom.

I have a tv in the bedroom too and I love it because we like different tv shows and this way we record our favorites on different tv’s so we get to both see our favorite shows

I have never had a TV in my bedroom and have been kind of against it, but I am starting to change my mind about that and want one there now. It would be nice!

I don’t have a tv in my room, but I certainly see the appeal.
