Dare we say that February is almost over and it’s time to share some tips for a mishap-free March Break? My oldest reminded me last week that it was almost March and that really got me thinking about March Break. Although this year we are planning on staying within the city and doing a staycation I wanted to share some tips for those of you that are travelling.

Tips for a Mishap-Free March Break

A well-deserved break from school for the kiddos is the perfect time for a family vacation, but make sure you’re prepared before you rush out the door this March break. Don’t waste a minute of your precious family time on common (and avoidable!) vacation fails. Whether you’re hitting the slopes or a water slide, make the most of your time off with these simple tips.

Don’t underestimate the sun.

UV rays reach the Earth year-round and surfaces like snow can reflect 85 percent of the sun’s rays back at you! So whether you are heading to a snowy destination or one filled with sun and beaches make sure to pick up Coppertone ClearlySheer Lotion for Face. Its sheer, non-greasy formula will help protect your skin from the sun without weighing you down by delivering trusted broad-spectrum protection. It is water resistant for up to 80 minutes and won’t clog your pores, ensuring your vacation photos showcase your sun-kissed glow and not sunburned and blemished skin.

If your family has chosen to step out of hibernation and head down South, you and the kids will likely be spending a lot of your time by the water. If your kids love water but hate standing still for sunscreen, try Coppertone Kids Sunscreen Continuous Spray. The easy, full coverage application will keep your children protected from harmful UV rays while keeping it easy for parents by spraying at any angle, even the one where you are lounging pool side with a margarita in your hand. It’s hypoallergenic and won’t irritate kids sensitive skin.

Tag that bag.

There’s nothing worse than arriving at your destination in one piece only to find out your bags have not. You can’t prevent luggage from getting lost, but you can make the return process much easier. Make sure you purchase luggage tags with a durable covering to protect your information. Look for a strong clasp that can withstand being tossed around from plane to carousel.

Pro tip: pack a pair of sandals and a bathing suit for everyone in your family in your carry-on so at least you can sit poolside while you wait for your lost luggage to arrive.

Restore your body’s rhythm.

One of the best parts of vacationing is indulging in delicious foods, but travel might have your digestive tract feeling no bueno! Almost 40 percent of people experience vacation constipation as gut bacteria reacts and adjusts to the change in setting[i]. Bathroom trouble can put a damper on your otherwise relaxing time off.

Tips for a Mishap-Free March Break

Be prepared and bring along some pre-measured, single dose RestoraLAX NeatPAX for convenient occasional constipation relief.  RestoraLAX dissolves easily in any beverage with no taste and no grit.  It helps restore your body’s natural rhythm by working with water to hydrate and soften stools. The last thing you want when trying to vacation is to feel like you are being held back, even if it is by your stomach issues.

What are some of your vacation preparation tricks that ensure your family getaway its nothing short of amazing?

We don’t usually put swimsuits in the carry on but at least one change of clothes for everyone just in case.

Good tips for any trip away from home. One of my daughters is one of those people you should never fly with! Her luggage gets lost so often it’s unbelievable. She also often gets rerouted. I remember once that we went to pick her up at the airport, luckily I had a relative who could find out more than we could. Her plane had been rerouted to another country! Luckily it was only a couple of hours drive for us and we did have our passports with us but still.

Although I feel I do a good job in the hot summer months remembering to put sunscreen on myself and kids I must admit that I’m terrible are acknowledging that it’s equally important to protect your skin in the winter months. Even though I know as you said the sun’s ray’s do reflect off of the snow, I never put sunscreen on my face. I’m now 38 and I have noticed more sun spots on my face (as well as wrinkles), from being outside so much. I’m not much of a shopper so I’m not up on new sunscreen formula’s etc. I was excited to read about the Coppertone Clearly Sheer Lotion for Face. If it does go on light and sheer I think I would benefit from wearing this during the off season when I’m outside. I’m going to pick up a bottle next time I’m out and give it a try. My father was just diagnosed with skin cancer due to excessive sun exposure and burns. I know he’ll be more diligent in protecting his skin this summer as will I. Thanks again for passing on the details of this product.

Great tips . Having enough time to pack is key for me . Always end up rushing and forget things. Had a bad experience thinking it wasn’t hot enough for sunscreen as well .

As promised I did purchase Coppertone Clearly Sheer Lotion for Face. Wow! It really does go on nice and light. My skim wasn’t sticky as it often feels when I put sunscreen on. It also didn’t make my eye sting when I put close to my eyes. That’s one thing my kids always complain about. I think this summer I’m going to try putting this on their faces too to avoid complaint and then put regular sunscreen to cover the rest of their exposed skin. Thanks again Aneta for the review. Since I’m not a shopper and don’t have cable tv to catch the latest and greatest products through commercials, I likely wouldn’t have found this on my own.

Awww Katherine I am glad. My kids complain sometimes too and I think they often disregard its importance as they have their fathers darker skin tone. I burn at the mere mention of sun ?

We’re hoping to drive down to Vegas and Arizona for Spring Break, this is all good advice and it reminded me to check the expiry dates on our sunscreen.
