Our Reading Eggs Experience

Reading Eggs

We've partnered with our friends Reading Eggs to bring you this post. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

We pulled Cyrus out of synchronous schooling a few months ago because the tears and his mental health trumped the benefits of his virtual kindergarten class. For us the choice was simple but it was the next steps that were difficult. You see we didn’t want to stop his education completely, just rewire it so it worked for him. Enter the Reading Eggs program.

Remember way back when we finally pulled Aria from French Immersion and put her into the English stream only to realize she was so far behind and couldn’t read? You can read about it here in more detail but Reading Eggs helped us catch her up and now we are using Reading Eggs to do the same with Cyrus.

Try Reading Eggs for 30 days for free! See why parents are loving this program and how it will help your little one become the reader you’ve always imagined them to be. Sign-up here!

WHY READING EGGS?

Reading Eggs was developed by elementary school teachers, writers and developers with over 30 years of experience to deliver fast and proven results to prepare children for school. It’s an award winning program that is recommended for kids 2-13 to help them reach their reading goals.

HOW READING EGGS WORKS

Reading Eggs turned our horrible virtual education experience around 180 degrees. Cyrus no longer runs away when the iPad comes out because the fun Reading Eggs app makes learning fun. After we downloaded Reading Eggs we did the detailed placement quiz so we knew exactly where we were on our learning journey. With a mix of 100s of reading games and activities, your child goes through the levels completely self-paced all while staying interested and engaged. It uses positive words and guides them on their learning path all while having them reach attainable goals. Progress is steady and measured and repetition makes sure your child learns the same item in many different ways. Plus parents can easily log into the program and check out the progress their little learner is making.

LEARNING ON THE GO

I really like that we can take on learning anywhere. Our Cyrus has been notorious for not being able to sit in one spot and do his schooling. It goes with him when he goes on the trampoline, when he wants to learn in his favourite spot by the window, or even in the car on errands. Our learning program is no longer tied to times and places that don’t fit our needs and Cyrus is thriving with it.

PREVENTING THE SUMMER SLIDE

With summer around the corner and this past 18 months of school being obviously a different experience due to Covid it is even more important to keep kids learning all summer long. School may not be on during the summer but my kids have always had to do something daily to keep their heads working.

I have often found that the older children and parents too, will read to the youngest and forget that he/she should be reading something too. The Reading Eggs sound like such a fun and positive way to help children.

My grandkids who are now 7 and 9, have had tablets for many years, at a young age and they have learned so much from them. They can be a great asset if you don’t let them overdo it, limit their time on their electronics.
