National Coffee Day is Around the Corner

Coffee, that is life.

I didn’t always drink coffee. I started in college in 2009 drinking extra large 4×4 with a shot of hazelnut. It was not even coffee but essentially a thick syrupy beverage that allowed me to fit in with the other students. I caved to peer pressure and at that time it still was the the life source it is now.

It took time and more kids, more work, later bedtimes and earlier wake ups. It took a few years to develop into what it is now. LOVE

I drink my coffee black, cold, a day old, any which way I can get it. When my eyes flutter open in the morning the first thought that crosses my mind is that hot cup of java. My oldest has now taken on a very important role of making sure his parents are caffeinated. This makes mornings so much easier because he is literally the early bird in our lives and a huge help.

National Coffee Day

On September 29th, embrace your vice and celebrate National Coffee Day with fellow coffee-loving moms. Did you know that Canadians consume an average of 2.8 cups a day?1

Here are some other interesting statistics about coffee that will keep you brewing the beverage every morning:

  • Coffee is good for your memory. A study conducted in Maastricht, Holland found that coffee can combat the forgetfulness that often accompanies aging2.
  • Coffee helps fight the common cold. Coffee can help cold sufferers feel better faster by relieving the sluggish feeling colds leave behind3.

While a great cup of coffee is the perfect start to the day, sometimes our favourite morning ‘jolt’ can leave us wanting to hide under the covers. You know what I’m talking about!

I didn’t start drinking coffee until I was 58 old! I hated the taste (it’s still not one of my favourite tastes) but I needed that jolt to get going in the morning.
