Medieval Times Toronto Dinner and Show + Giveaway

This weekend we got the chance to visit Medieval Times Toronto. Medieval Times is a trip into the past that over a 2-hour dinner and show has you fully immersed in the culture of centuries before. You can find out more information on Medieval Times Toronto on their website here.

Medieval Times Toronto Show

Walking up to Medieval Times Toronto there were subtle hints at what you were about to experience but nothing like actually walking through the doors. You are immediately immersed in the medieval culture and all of the employees are dressed in costumes from the era. We were quickly ushered through the front are to where we received our passes and crowns. Then we got a chance to take pictures with either the royal falconer or a princess and you guessed it, the falconer won.

There is a large area where you can purchase souvenirs and take pictures with the royal court (additional money). We got our kids some momentoes from the thousands available and were really impressed with the selection and also the employee’s dedication to staying in character. It made the experience that much more special and you could feel the buzz in the air of excited patrons.

Once we were settled into our seats (my suggestion would be to spring for the front row seats) we were treated to such a beautiful experience. The staff serving us were great and I really appreciated that they came around and offered to take pictures of your group for you that you could later purchase. I found that due to lighting my own pictures came out fairly dark and I am glad we got one of theirs to take home.

The actual show follows a storyline where you have 6 knights competing in showmanship, weaponry and jousting among other things. There is a King, a Princess and someone in the audience are crowned the queen.

The royal falcon from the front entranceway was brought out to do a show and as it swooped through the arena we were in awe. My youngest whose selection of words is still limited kept pointing in the air and screaming “bird, bird”.

But the horses. Oh, the horses. They were majestic and showed off tricks and fancy footwork. Since we were sitting right at the front they were so close and our kids were spellbound. Hell, I was spellbound and also kicking myself for not taking them to see the show earlier in their lives.

Medieval Times Menu

My husband has been to Medieval Times before so he gave us a heads up that there was no cutlery at Medieval Times. You eat with your hands and sip soup right out of the steel bowl. There is a HUGE emphasis on making sure your dietary needs are met and just when we arrived we were asked 3 different times whether we had any dietary restrictions.

We opted for the regular meals which were tomato bisque, garlic bread, half a chicken, baked potato, corn on the cob, and lemon cake. Coffee, tea, juice and pop were available as part of the package and you could add on spirits and slushies at an extra cost. My husband and I split an enormous beer because you get to keep the cup it comes in.

Medieval Times Tickets, Deals & Parking

Medieval Times Toronto Castle is located at 10 Dufferin St, Toronto ON M6K 3C3. Parking can be found north of the building run by the City of Toronto for $12/car and the entrance to the parking lot is actually at the south and rear of the castle. General admission is $65.95 for ADULTS and $45.95 for CHILDREN 12 & UNDER. It is important to realize that this is the cost of both the dinner and entertainment so there is great value in that price.

For the month of March and April, you can get a special price. Students & Kids are $33.95 and Adults are $43.95 (Save up to $32 per person). To get this special code use code: SB18 at check out.

I am excited to win passes to Medieval Times Toronto to surprise my daughter for her 9th birthday. She is a wonderful, loving, energetic little girl. When discussing potential birthday plans with my daughter she asked if this year we could have a special family birthday celebration instead of a kid party. She is finding it hard making a special friend connection at school, so I really want to “WOW” her with an exciting family birthday celebration. I think this fits the bill. its been on our bucket list to go as a family for a while! We would especially love the jousting and the knights! such action packed fun! I have gone once with only my son and we had a blast – love to take the whole family together! & especially love that their are special meals available by request which includes kosher which is a real treat for us to be able to partake in food too!

I have actually never had the opportunity to go . We were supposed to a few years ago but it fell through and was such a downer for us for sure.So the ability to go for sure would be amazing.Plus we just love the Medieval era.

My husband and kids have never been! I went as a child with my parents and I remember they gave us whole chicken to eat with our hands and my mom couldn’t do it without a knife and fork so she wrapped hers in napkins and put it in her purse until we got back to the hotel! Lol. Good times 🙂
