Halloween Costume Inspiration From Netflix

Halloween is one of our favourite holidays. I passed my sweet tooth down to my kids and so now we all spend weeks getting ready and stay out way too long on October 31st. We come home and sort our goodies and my husband and I take our parent tax out of the kids stashes because it’s the one time they can provide some nutrition for us.

Today I was looking through a photo album from my childhood and was truly amazed at our imaginations (with moms help) at making our Halloween costume each year. I am failing miserably with our kids so this year we will try to do a DIY, I think that these photos will encourage them that homemade doesn’t have to be horrible.

I am not sure what I was this particular year but that cape was fantastic!

This picture is of my sister and I our first Halloween in Canada. I think my mom did the most fantastic job on making our costumes, even better because she had never even seen Halloween happen before.

Halloween Costume Inspiration From Your Favourite Netflix Shows

If these don’t inspire you to go the DIY route maybe some of your favourite Netflix shows will? My younger sister is actually big into Riverdale at the moment so she took inspiration from Netflix too and went to a party in a veronica lodge costume! Or try out our tutu tutorial for a quick and easy costume idea!

Love the ideas! I have pictures when we were younger and the majority of our costumes were made as well. Nowadays it’s easier to buy one than it is to find the time to be creative.

My family immigrated to Canada on October 21; Halloween was only a few days after and I had NO IDEA what it was. All I remember is being told to go to each door and say “Trick or Treat”… And then someone would just give me candy! I thought Canada was the greatest country in the world!!!! LOL! I still do, but for more adult reasons… The boys being older, they are responsible for their own costumes and go DIY much of the time to save money… I help them a bit.
