I am seeing so many people on Tik Tok and Instagram talking about the “paid per letter” and how they can get paid $5 USD ($7 CAD) per letter they write. They’re trying to get people to sign up for these super expensive courses so they can teach you how to do it. They’re exploiting you for information that is readily available on the internet to make a profit. I’m going to teach you how to do it for free. If you want to return the favour you can buy the necessary items via my Amazon link ( CANADIAN LIST and USA LIST) and I will get a small commission. Much appreciated.

Alternative Method of Entry

So anytime there is a contest happening there has to be way to enter without making a purchase. This is called an alternative method of entry or AMOE. For the purpose of this post the alternative method of entry is writing a letter.

How to Write Letters to Chumba Sweepstakes

They sweepstakes companies try to make this method as difficult as possible because it cuts into their bottom dollar but in all honesty it’s very simple. I am going to teach you about Chumba sweepstakes because this is the one I have tried and had great success with.

Step One: Make an Account

Before you start any writing you need to make an account on the Chumba website to make sure you’re able to. Use an email address you have access to and also use valid identification. Take note of the way your name and address are spelled during the initial account setup as they have a very important part. There is no use writing hundreds of letters only to find out you can’t open an account.

Step Two: Collect Your Supplies

The letters have to be written on specific sized paper, a specific type of envelope, and with blue or black pen (I really like these because they are great quality and don’t hurt my hand to use). I also use white out tape in case I make a mistake so I can easily fix it and continue to write without having to wait for it to dry.

  • 500 count per box

Step 3: Make a Mock Card and Envelope

Before you start writing hundreds of cards and envelopes write ONE. This will be the one you copy over and over so you want to make sure you are doing it correctly. If you forget to capitalize a word, spell something incorrectly, forget an apostrophe, use a pencil, etc. you will not get your $5 USD. Your card will be thrown in the trash.

  • White: solid white index cards provide a clean, professional appearance
  • Blank: plain (no lines) on both sides allows for writing or drawing freely
  • Versatile: use at home, in the classroom, or at the office; ideal for flash cards, test notes, presentation talking poin…

Step 4: Write In Batches

I like to write in batches. I set a goal (usually how many stamps I can get) and start writing. The method that works for me may not work for you. It’s trial and error and personal preference. I personally write the envelopes first. I will write my address on all of the envelopes first, than go back and write “Sweepstakes Entries” on all of them, and then finally go back and write the Chumba address on all of them. I find this to be the easiest and quickest for me. You do you.

I then start writing my cards. I leave ONE LINE at the top left corner for my Postal Request Code since I am in Canada. If you’re in the USA you can skip this step. I write my name, email, and address on all of the cards first. I make sure I spell my name and address EXACTLY as it is spelled on my identification. Once I have written my own information on the cards I go back and write Chumba’s requested paragraph making sure its legible and exactly as requested.

Step 5: Collect Postal Request Codes if You’re Canadian

If you’re in Canada you need to login to your Chumba account, scroll to the bottom where it says “Postal Request Code” and follow the prompts to get your one time use code. These codes are only good for 30 days so I would only collect as many codes as you need. I actually request these codes as a last step after I have already written my envelope, attached a stamp and written my card. I make sure to leave a spot at the top left of my card so I can put the codes in there right before I send them off. These codes can only be requested once every 5 minutes so I set an alarm for 6 minutes after I get it to remind me to get my next code.

Step 6: Mail Them Off

Once you’ve written your cards put them in the mailbox and wait. The processing times vary depending on how many other people send them in but you’ll check your inbox one day and you’ll see the email saying your account has been credited with AMOE.

If you have questions or need someone to check over your card and envelope to make sure there are no mistakes you can comment below or email me at homewithaneta@gmail.com. I will try to respond efficiently
