Print All The Things with the Epson Expression ET-2550 EcoTank

Guys, I have in my possession the last printer I will ever buy because it is so amazing.

That is a big statement because I usually buy a printer or two a year. Not because they break, but because buying ink for them costs more than buying a new printer. That’s pretty sad.

The Moment my Eyes Laid Upon the Epson EcoTank

While at the Staples back-to-school event with my family this year we made our way over to the Epson station. A printer is a printer is a printer except when a printer has enough ink in it to last up to 2 years out of the box. Our whole family was floored by this. My husband’s eyes lit up with visions of not having me frantically sending him to the local Staples to grab more ink at odd hours of the day. My kids were thinking of printing out a million random things that I always refused because #Ink and me?

I imagined printing out contracts and having them neatly filed and not lost in my emails somewhere.

I imagined printing cute quotes to decorate my walls (and being able to switch them up seasonally).

I imagined finally printing out all of the pictures I’ve been meaning to since 2009.

I imagined tossing out all the other printers–just joking. I’m going to pass them on to someone who needs them.

Expression ET-2550 EcoTank Wireless All-in-One

The Expression ET-2550 EcoTank wireless all-in-one printer does all the usual stuff: prints, scans, and copies–wirelessly of course. Set up was easy, installing drivers on to the computer and updating everything took about an hour but that’s to be expected with any new electronics.

The printer looks like most other printers except when you look at the side of it. That is where you will find the ink housing. Lift up the top and there is where the  magic is. SUPER TANKS of ink! Yes, super tanks!

Instead of cartridges, the EcoTank comes with 4 bottles of ink that equal 20 ink cartridge sets. You can see how full the tanks are from the outside of the printer and easily fill them up as needed. Plus, the refills are inexpensive making the cost per print very low.

One of my favourite features though is that I can print right from my phone or tablet to the printer, heck I can even email something to my printer when I am out of the house and have it printed. It even lets you print daily/monthly calendars and lined paper right from the LCD display making planning ahead and taking notes a breeze. That is the kind of convenience a girl can get used to.

There is also a card slot for you to put your camera’s memory card in and you can easily use the 1.44″ LCD to preview, edit and print photos, without turning on your computer.

Free Printables

Now that I can print all of the things I am determined to line my walls with fun quotes, sayings and feel-good things.

You can grab this awesome “Hello Fall” printable here and the “A mother’s love can move mountains” printable here. But you may want to pick up one of the many Epson EcoTank printer options on the market so that you can print them without worrying about how much ink you’re using.

I will have to check this printer out, I love how the ink is on this one, my Canon is really starting to make me mad and seems to work only when it wants to, grrr

Sounds like a great printer to me, love the fact that it’s wireless as well as the super big tanks of ink. This has been a long time in coming but it had to as it was always such a huge problem running out of ink. Love it. 🙂

I really like the idea of getting away from ink cartridges!

Sounds like a great printer and wireless too. I hate the idea of having to spend so much on ink and this printer sounds like it would pay for itself.

When I decide that I’d like a colour printer as well as my black and white laser printer then this is probably the one I’d buy. 🙂

We went paperless in our household a few years ago due to the irritations related to printing and the costs. The boys still need to print on occasion, so I will have to check out this printer. Thanks!

It does sound like a great printer, we need a new one so I am definitely going to have to take a closer look at it. Love that you can fill your own ink.

This printer sounds like an impressive piece of machinery and I can’t believe how much ink it holds but my big question is how loud is it because my printer is really loud and I hate it.

That is so cool that there is a spot to put your camera card into! that would really come in handy for me as I am always using my Canon to snap pics of the girls and don’t have that option on my current printer
