This winter has been one for the books where we swung heavily between “How is it so warm?” and “Why do I live somewhere so cold?” During the latter, I have been so happy to have the Dreo Smart Wall Heater – not your grandma’s space heater, but one with the brains to match the brawn. Grab your cozy socks and a cup of cocoa as we dive into why we are fans of Dreo’s new Smart Wall Heater.

Installation is a Breeze

First off, I’ve always been a little bit overwhelmed with the idea of hanging a unit on my walls. Dreo has made it super easy with an included drilling template with a level right on it so you can’t screw it up. The template even has a QR code for you to scan so you can watch an install video. Genius, right? We had to make some adjustments on where the unit was going due to the cord length but I don’t know if I would have been happier with a longer cord either due to the bulk so this is merely an observation.

At 9.15 lbs and 4.72″D x 20.08″W x 13.39″H this unit is small enough to not take up too much space but strong enough to heat up your rooms. With its 120 degree oscillation it outperforms competitiors in making sure that there are no cold spots in the room. We have some spots in the house that are notoriously cold because theyre just so much further from the furnace and we happily installed the unit there.

WiFi Enabled

Lets be honest here, the unit being hooked up to Alexa is a huge bonus. Sometimes when the kids are already in bed I can here them calling to Alexa to turn the heater on. Nobody, and I mean nobody, wants to jump out of the warm confines of bed to turn the heat on. There is a remote and you can also turn the fan on using the Dreo app but since my kids don’t have phones in bed they just stick to screaming out their demands.

Year-Round Use

When we were installing the unit my husband had some concerns about what we would do during the summer when the heater was not in use and we are happy to report that it also has fan functionality making it a full 4-season hero.

I am sure I am not the only human being that is being driven to their wits end with an endless amount of “stuff”. I had this discussion with my sister-in-law recently about the sheer amount of baby gear that is being marketed to new-moms when in reality you need almost nothing. I long ago stopped buying items that were either meant for one use or for one stage in life. Items have to transcend basic needs and fill multiple voids to take up precious space in our home and lives and the DREO line always comes through. Display of the Gods

The Dreo unit is neither flashy or boring. It blends well into its surroundings and its small stature helps with that. Buttons are easily visible and easy to use and the display is sleek and informative. I am the type of person who “sets it and forgets it” so we just press power and enjoy. That doesn’t mean that you can’t use the robust Dreo app to set a schedule, fine tune your settings and make sure that you’re 100% in your comfort zone.

It has to be attached on a wall. I wouldn’t have it touching plastic but unless the instructions say no I don’t see why not

I like that this also has a fan so I can find some use for it throughout the year. With a 1500 watt heater, the fan is probably powerful enough to make a difference.

I love that it comes with a remote control we would place it in our basement where we have built our son who is in the Marine’s a room for when he comes back.
