Imagine my surprise when our central air conditioning failed to turn on come May at the first sight of heat. Imagine my surprise when I got my hydro bill the next month and it was hundreds, yes hundreds, of dollars cheaper than every other summer season the past 10 years because we weren’t using the AC. Guess who opted out of fixing the AC and has instead installed a portable AC unit and fans in the house? Me, this girl, this much more money-conscious girl. But I got the absolute best tabletop fan I have ever used, the Dreo Falcon S Air Circulator fan. It’s the hero of this story.

Reasons I Love the Dreo Falcon S Air Circulator Fan

I am a massive fan of Dreo products (check out our review of the Macro Max S Smart Air Purifier and of the Macro Pro True HEPA Air Purifier) and one of my favourite features is the sleek design of all the units. It comes in both silver and gold and boasts a beautiful digital design with buttons that are one with the unit. No crevices for dirt to get into and cleaning it is a breeze. They even built the unit in a way that it can easily and quickly be dismantled for cleaning. We’ve probably all been victims of dirty fan blades that just chop at the air without actually moving it around.

This particular unit is also super compact (think tabletop fan) but boosts a massive punch to keep the biggest rooms cool by reaching airflow as far as 110 ft. With 9 different built-in speeds, you are sure to find one that works for you but I prefer the max because I like living like I am in a vortex. You can easily shift between the 6 different modes as well-Auto, Turbo, Normal, Natural, Sleep, and Custom. If you have it on auto mode the fan will adjust to maintain a temperature you like. Awesome, right?

The air circulator fan is also connected and controlled through the DREO app, where I also have my other DREO smart appliances locked and loaded. I love that I can start cooling down the house when I am still 20 minutes away so that it’s nice and comfortable before I even reach there. I love that I can turn it on using voice control with my Amazon Alexa and Google Home from anywhere. Comes in super handy when the kids are already tucked into their beds or when we can’t find the remote control the unit comes with. Those with kids get it. Remotes need to be welded to something so they stay in one space.

The coolest feature for me is the 120° Horizontal oscillation and 90° Vertical oscillation. It’s truly so unique to watch and the first time we turned the fan on we were all watching it as if it was a life-changing experience. I think we were all amazed at just how well it cooled down the space and how it managed to hit every square inch from floor to ceiling. Plus, its whisper-quiet performance, just 25dB, lets it be a welcome addition to the office, bedroom, or living space without sacrificing peace. If you do end up using it at the highest speeds you can hear it but the payoff if well worth the sounds coming from the unit.

I would use it in my office. It’s on our upper floor and the cool air doesn’t push up here very well and I can’t turn the A/C down more both because of cost and my poor husband works in the basement and he is usually freezing!

I’d use this fan mostly in the bedroom at night, even if it’s not as quiet as it’s said to be. I’d also use it in the living room even while watching tv if it is actually as quiet as the makers say. I have AC but I have a small fan too to keep air circulating but it’s loud for being so little. This Dreo sounds like a nice fan.
