Deals on Back-to-School Shopping: How To Get Them

How to Get Deals on Back-to-School Shopping

Back-to-school may be the most exciting (and expensive) time of the year, but if you don’t reign in the spending it could also leave you with spending regrets. There are a few ways that you can easily get deals on back-to-school shopping and keep the experience as happy and pain-free as possible.

Getting Deals on Back-to-School Shopping

If you are going to be doing your back-to-school shopping online there are a few ways you can save money on your online adventures.

Before you head out on a trip make sure you check out what cash back app Checkout 51 is offering. Maybe those crayons that are on sale for a great price are also going to give you $1 back. Just upload your receipts to the app and once you hit $20 you can get your money.

The same premise as Checkout 51 is Caddle. Use both to maximize your savings and get the best deals.

Download and collect loyalty points. One of my favourites is the PC Optimum program and I collect and redeem like a champ. See if your favourite stores have programs and sign up for them. It all adds up.

Download and use Flipp to scour flyers, grab coupons, make shopping lists and see what products (and places) have the best deals for what you need. Remember that some retailers will price match if you show one of their competitors has a better price (Walmart is great for this) so make sure you have gone through your app and circled all the items you need to buy. Simply open up the app while you are checking out and get the best prices for what you would already be buying.

By signing up for Ebates.ca and going onto their site first before making your way to one of their partner sites you get cash back into your Ebates account. Their partners include Gap (2%), Old Navy (2%), Joe Fresh (4%), and Amazon (5%) and you are mailed out a check a few times a year for all the money you earned shopping. I am new to Honey but after one AMAZING purchase with them, I am hooked. Honey is a Chrome extension that you download and use that sources out, tests, and applies the best coupons for your online purchases. It got me 25% off of my Joe Fresh purchase and I ended up getting 11 items for $114 making me a fan for life. You can check out Honey through my referral link here –> Honey

Sign up for newsletters through the retailers you shop at. Most offer initial coupon codes for signing up but they also email you with more deals and coupon codes over time.

Another way I have found to get a deal on back-to-school (or any) online shopping was to sign in to my account and put the items I want into the cart. I don’t press ‘checkout’ and close the browser. Some brands send out emails with great coupon codes to get you to finish the sale.
