Bulletproof Coffee and Permission to Change the Rules

bulletproof coffee

Ladies and gentlemen, I am already hitting a wall and it is only December 9th. I need to up the ante if I am going to make it through the holidays this year and I have decided to take it one day at a time, one task at a time.

At a time when I am busy on every single front of my life, I am also feeling like I could very easily fall apart. It’s with this knowledge that I am also prioritizing my goals and taking the proper steps to make sure I reach and excel at each and every one.

Elevate My Season

But I am also giving myself permission to take a step back and not follow the rules.

My tree that is usually up early November has not made its appearance yet. This was sitting on my to-do list being intentionally overlooked every single day and making me feel like a failure until I realized that the time is not right. I remembered that every year prior by December 1st I was so done with the huge intrusion on my living room and so I have decided that this year we will put the tree up in early December so we will actually enjoy it for the time it’s up. You see that, that’s me taking control back from what is expected.

Another big thing for me is taking the time to enjoy the fruits of my labour. I am working what seems like 24/7 and although we are the most at peace with our life and happiest we have been in a long time, doubt always seeps in. Like I can’t slow down for a second and realize that ‘life is good’ because that will make me a bad person. Life can be great, I am going to slow down and savour it and not feel guilty for doing it.

As for the holidays, I am going to focus on making real memories and not on making it all look good. Getting stressed when the kids rearrange the tree so that all the ornaments are on the bottom of the tree is not good for anyone. When the kids want to make the cookies thus rendering them not Pinterest-worthy I will let them, and I will not stress out over things out of my power like this seasons “it” toy being sold out everywhere.

I will not stress.

I will elevate my season.

Bulletproof Coffee

In a perfect world, my day starts with the perfect cup of coffee, for you it may be tea or hot chocolate. But the process of making the perfect cup is just as important as enjoying it.

Starting out with beans that have been tested to ensure they have met the high standards to be Bulletproof approved. Most coffee on the market has mold in it and that can cause some pretty nasty health problems like cardiomyopathy, cancer, hypertension, kidney disease, and even brain damage. My coffee is supposed to enhance my life not end it. Good coffee will help you brain function properly, increase energy and memory and will not need some insane amounts of sugar to taste good because it will be able to do that on its own.

The difference of a cup of Bulletproof Coffee can be felt almost immediately. Starting with clean beans and adding healthy fats will make one cup of coffee deliver its goodness for many hours. Bulletproof Coffee is Upgraded Coffee blended with grass-fed unsalted butter & Brain Octane Oil, the holy trifecta of a good day.  I am not a breakfast person unless it is delivered to me on a hot plate at the computer desk (thanks hubby) but thanks to the Brain Octane Oil I am not feeling hungry come 11 am. Because the Bulletproof Intermittent Fasting protocol helps boost my metabolism, burn fat, improve cognition and build muscles all while I am typing away at my computer trying to take over the world I manage to meet those deadlines and stay focused.

Have I not made you want a cup of Bulletproof Coffee yet? Fret not because they have a bunch of other stuff to help you be a better version of an already awesome you. Like this hot chocolate and even Chocolate Fuel Bars all available online or at a local retailer.

What is Brain Octane Oil & Why the Butter

If you are like most people you are probably trying to figure out WHY you would add BOO and butter to coffee especially if you want to lose weight.

Brain Octane Oil is made from coconut oil and is a purified form of medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil. It contains 16x the healthy fats that can be found in coconut oil and will improve your energy and health with consistent use. Long story short your body breaks these oils down into energy in just 3 steps unlike sugar which takes 25 steps. MCTs completely bypass the liver making it absorbed fast and why you feel the effects almost immediately after the first stip.

I like to give my guests the coffee without telling them and watching them sit at my counter with a quizzed expression on their face trying to figure out what kind of sorcery I performed.

You add the butter for the flavour and to stay full, but it has to be grass-fed and salt free or you are just being gross and putting more toxins into your body. If you are lactose intolerant like my other half you can use ghee which is clarified butter. Personally, I prefer butter because I find it froths up and gives my coffee a rich nutty flavour, but my husband will choose no tummy problems over froth any day. Also important to note is that hubs is a tea drinker who has come over to the dark (bright) side because of the effects of Bulletproof.

Trying It Out

Taking a chance on yourself, investing in yourself, deciding that this little indulgence is something you are worthy of, especially during the holidays is something I highly recommend. You will look better, feel better, function better, you will not only elevate yourself but your season.

Not sure if it’s the right fit for you? Order a starter kit and try it out. Even though I am working with Bulletproof on bringing you this post I have ordered and will continue to order the products long after this campaign is done. I know most of the bloggers in these campaigns have and will continue to do the same. It’s kind of like the missing step before your goals can be achieved, your to-do list can finally be conquered, and you can sit down and celebrate your success, because you earned it.

I’d never heard of Bulletproof Coffee, or Brain Octane before reading your post. It definitely sounds intriguing, thanks very much for the information.

I love Bulletproof coffee but can’t understand why Dave Osprey doesn’t go the extra step and make it certified organic. I like that it’s checked for mold but I don’t want pesticides or heavy metals in it either. And …. could it be a little more affordable? I think so.

I have heard of this coffee before and I have heard about putting butter into your coffee, I never tried it myself though, once I get myself a coffee press I would love to try this!!

I make it in my plug in unit and use an immersion blender right in the pot. It stays warm on the burner and no blender to clean. Don’t leave it on the warmer too long or it will be nasty. I just turn it off after a few minutes and rewarm it if there is any left. No nuking!

It is an amazing way to really ramp up what you are already doing. Highly recommend it.

  10. December 16, 2016 / 12:47 pm

I hope you end up loving it as much as I do. I hope you end up trying it with the butter as well as the ghee to find what works for you.

  11. December 16, 2016 / 12:48 pm

I don’t know about the organic part but I think if you consider how little of this you have to drink in comparison to regular coffee it justifies the cost.

  12. December 16, 2016 / 12:50 pm

hey Gwen, we all started out as newbies 🙂 You brew the upgraded coffee as usual. Once you have brewed coffee you add it to the blender, add the Brain Octane Oil and the Grass-fed butter. Blend and enjoy.

  13. December 16, 2016 / 12:52 pm

And if coffee is not your thing there is whole slew of hot beverages you can add the brain octane oil to to get the desired effect as well, although coffee is my favourite 🙂

  14. December 16, 2016 / 12:54 pm

I felt the same way before I tried it. After doing my research and that first, life-changing cup I am a convert 🙂

Does the BOO need to be drank with coffee? Can it just be mixed with water and guzzled down? I prefer my coffee black. But I am dragging lately and really could use some energy!

  17. December 30, 2016 / 11:55 am

The BOO can be used in anything. It is odorless, tasteless, and a pretty light oil. You can put it in smoothies, salad dressings or anything your heart can imagine really.
