Today I’m sharing some of my fave beauty items for surviving the holiday party season.
During this busy season visits with family and friends and events quickly fill up our calendars and I can’t be the only one who is scrambling with how to keep my wits about me.
Starting with basic makeup in the morning and amplifying either my eyes or lips will let you go from day to night makeup with ease and also cut down prep time in between. Here are some of the items I am currently loving that seamlessly take me from day to night.
My Fave Beauty Items for Surviving the Holiday Party Season
I always make sure I use an amazing moisturizer during the winter. Not only does it keep my skin moisturized but it helps my makeup look better. This Vitamin C Glow-Boosting Moisturizer from The Body Shop tackles winter skin woes and helps bring your best skin forward.
A primer helps to give your makeup a good canvas to sit on. I am currently using–and loving–the Maybelline New York Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer which helps take care of the pores on my t-zone so that the makeup doesn’t sit in them.
I splurge on certain beauty items and one that I don’t skimp on is a good powder/foundation combo. This Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation is good quality, compact and allows mess-free application compared to its liquid competition. Plus you can easily put it into a clutch for on the go touch-ups.
I have a very pale complexion and even though I love how a tan looks on my skin I choose to use a matte bronzer instead. This Rimmel London Natural Bronzer Waterproof Bronzing Powder in Sun Bronze is one I have in my makeup bag and it’s in use all year long. When I do get some sun I use this to even out my complexion. Totally worth the $6
If you are looking into going a little bit more glam with your lips this 2-in-1 jane iredale Lip Fixation Lip Stain/Gloss gives you rich, long-lasting colour but also leaves your lips super soft and supple thanks to the vitamin E and avocado oil within.
Going from day to night is easy with Rimmel London Magnif’eyes Shadow Palette in London Nudes Calling as the warm blush tones can be easily layered to make them look as simple or intense as you want.
I love the drama of liquid eyeliner for night time but have some real issues getting it to look good. This Maybelline New York Curvitude Liners angled brush make it so I can easily swipe across and not look like my 2-year-old did my makeup.
This Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Nail Color in ‘Gilty Party” lasts for almost a week through vigorous ‘momming’ and is such a pretty colour for the holidays.
What are some of your must-have beauty products for the busy holiday season?
I love the products that you picked but I especially like the Maybelline New York Curvitude Liners because I’ve never seen it but now I’ll check it out. Thanks !

I love the eyeshadow palette. I’m really liking the blushed colour trend that’s in vogue at the moment.
The MAC Studio Fix is my go-to for foundation! It’s a bit more pricey than drug store products BUT that being said, one compact lasts me over a year. WEll worth the cost

I don’t have any favourite beauty items, apart from my perfume and that’s really a beauty item but it does make me feel good so perhaps it does count – Chanel No 5. 🙂

I love that Rimmel palette and the curved eye liner! My must have for the holidays is festive nail polish. If my nails are done, I feel good, even without any other make up.
Sally Hansen polishes are great. They’re affordable, and better quality than a lot of the expensive brands. 90% of my polish is Sally Hansen. Interested in trying the Vitamin C moisturizer! Going to have to see if our local the body shop has it tomorrow.

I don’t normally wear make up regularly. So it’s great to find all these recommendations for those times when I might need them.
Ohhhhh, I’ve never seen the Maybelline New York Curvitude Liner, I’m going to look for that when mine runs out! I have such a hard time getting mine right, and I’m starting to get the dreaded hooded eye now as I’m getting to be ancient.
I love the color of the lip stain and the nail polish.
I love sally Hansen nail polish . Its one of the only brands that doesn’t chip within a couple days . I’m definitely going to have to try that maybelline eye liner . It looks a lot easier to apply .
