5 Ways to Save Money on Groceries + Giveaway

5 Ways to Save Money on Groceries + Giveaway

This post is in partnership with reebee Canada and all thoughts are our own.

How many of you are going into the year trying to find ways to save money fast and put a little something away. Reebee, a Canadian online flyer app, is helping us along the way by giving us 5 ways to save money on groceries.

5 Ways to Save Money on Groceries

The easiest way to save money on groceries is to take advantage of what is offered to us, such as the reebee app. The average family in Canada that uses reebee saves $3978 per year on groceries. It makes you want to download the app today right?

5 Ways to Save Money on Groceries

Use a Digital Flyer App Like reebee

Gone are the days when we wait for a neighbourhood kid to chuck a local paper with this week’s flyers at our door. With the coming of the digital age, we are lucky enough to get digital flyers at the tips of our fingertips.

reebee has long been one of my fave apps on my phone because it lets me look at all the local flyers from anywhere, anytime. I scan when I am having my morning coffee, while waiting to pick up the kids from school or even right from the grocery store parking lot if I awant a heads up of what is on sale or I need to price match.

Make A Shopping List to Save Money on Food

5 Ways to Save Money on Groceries With Reebee Online Flyer App Canada

I think we all know that if we have a list in hand we are less likely to spend money frivolously on items we either don’t need or those that aren’t the best price. reebee lets you easily make a shopping list within the app while you are looking through digital flyers. You can even see what items are trending too. I usually check out what items offer extra points with my current rewards program and see if I can also get them on sale too.

Price Match Like a Pro

Take that list that you just made and search out the best prices on each item easily by clicking on the magnifying glass on the reebee app. Find out which of your local store’s price matches and go to the one who has the best selection so you can find the most of your items.

If you are new to price matching I would start with the expensive items on your list like toilet paper, laundry soap, and paper towels to see how fast savings add up. Before long you will have a whole list of items to price match in reebee and will be cutting your grocery bill like a pro.

Time Equals Money

On average reebee save 36 minutes a week on their groceries by being prepared ahead of time and price matching. 36 minutes may not seem like that long, but over the course of a year using a digital flyer app like reebee ends up saving users 1 whole day a year not spent aimlessly walking up and down the grocery aisles. That’s a day spent doing what is important like spending time with our families or chasing our dreams.

Find New Stores In Your Neighbourhood

I can’t tell you how many times I discovered a new store in my neighbourhood thanks to the reebee app. It is so easy to get sucked up to searching our fave stores but many times smaller businesses have great sales too.

Why reebee is Our Fave Way to Grocery Shop on a Budget

reebee is our fave way to grocery shop on a budget because it easily lets us know the price of items all while saving us time, money and the environment.

Instead of driving around to many stores to get the best prices I simply present our list of best prices at checkout to price match our whole list, keeping us on budget every time.

Love being able to ad match using the Reebee app. Not all retailers will do it and there are lots of little rules and limits, but the savings are usually enough of a motivation to request the price adjustment.

  139. February 12, 2019 / 12:21 am

The Reebee app helps to find me the lowest prices. I also shop for sales and make a list of what I really need.

  140. February 12, 2019 / 11:07 am

I loved using Reebee when I lived in Ontario. It was so great for price-matching. It saved me a lot of money and a lot of running around. While I still use the app now, there aren’t as many retailers where I live now and price matching isn’t really a “thing” here. I prefer the app over paper flyers.

  141. February 12, 2019 / 11:16 am

Normally when I’m making spaghetti it’s because ground beef is on sale so when I make it I usually make a double batch of sauce and put it in the freezer. Not only does it mean we’re getting our meal with sale priced meat, but when we are really busy and haven’t had time to cook, or not feeling like cooking for whatever reason, having something that fast and easy available saves a lot of money in comparison to going out.
