This summer is proving to be a scorcher and we’ve been looking for ways to keep cool. The kids LOVE playing out in the backyard and I love to be out there gardening. We’ve discovered a way to cool down the kids, let them have tons of fun and make sure my backyard gets some much needed H20 thanks to the little tikes Fun Zone Splash Face water activity set

I don’t often encourage my kids to show off their strengths against each other but this water-loving mama loves this water version of tug-of-war.

We had the little tikes Splash Face set sitting in a box for a little over a month in my room. While the kids looked at it longingly I kept putting it off as the summer vacation was almost on our doorsteps and I really wanted to wait until then. It’s a good thing I waited because with the weather sitting around 30º it’s nice to send the kids outside to cool down.

Setting it up was a breeze and very fast. You do need to use a screwdriver and a hammer although it was very easy to do. From the moment I opened the little tikes Splash Face box to when the kids started laughing like crazy playing was around 10 minutes. A perfect addition to any home or party and I think I will be changing the spot of the unit to hit my gardens better.

The idea behind Splash Face is that two children will each pick a side and start pulling the handles just as they would in tug-of-war. As one child pulls harder than the other, the other child gets sprayed with water. At the beginning, my kids took turns getting wet which was so Canadian of them but after a while, they totally got the hang of it and started pulling like crazy. One thing I did notice is that you do need two kids that are similar strengths to keep the game flowing well…or a very determined girl who will not let her little brother win. You’re new daily video watching tasks are so frustrating! I’ve attempted to watch one of the videos 6 times now, and every time I am almost near the end the video crashes and I have to start all over. I’m not sure if you’re aware of this problem or not, but it’s very frustrating. Most videos allow for skipping to the last part that was being watched, but you’ve blocked that option (it used to be available on your previous posts), so having to re-watch the same video several times a day just to try to get the entries is starting to get “old.” Thought you might want to know, since having people avoid your videos out of frustration is probably not something you want.
