The Art of Netflix Persuasion

Netflix persuasion

August has been a crazy busy month but yet we’ve had time to sit and watch our fave Netflix shows thanks to the influx of rain and later bed times.

My husband and I are like night and day when it comes to our viewing preferences. Over the years we have somehow managed to find some shows that we could both enjoy and binge on for a month straight. He came over to my side and watched Gray’s Anatomy, Bones, and House and I got into Weeds, Prison Break and lately all the Pablo Escobar shows on Netflix.

The Commitment

During times when hubs and I are binging hard nothing else matters. I mean things matter: kids, dog, can’t name a third thing-but when we commit we are watching till 3 AM committed. Order pizza because if I go in the kitchen to cook the hubs will continue to watch committed.  Laundry can sit all wet in the washing machine because mama clearly forgot all about it committed. We don’t quit.

But the trick to getting our kids to be as committed as us to a show that is maybe not completely up their alley? Bribery…out smarting them…nawwwww. We use some of the the tips Netflix has passed along.

The Art of Netflix Persuasion

Sure you’ve binged you’re way through Trollhunters but now you want to enjoy the fun with everyone. Repeat after me: Cartoons are not just for kids. If that’s not working for you, let this guide be the trick up your sleeve to getting a loved one to join you on an legendary trip to the Trollmarket and beyond.

You don’t have to know how to whip up a 5-star meal to watch someone else do it. Follow the recipe above to get the rest of the family on board for a truly Michelin worthy experience and find some exciting new dinner ideas along the way!

Telling your 10-year-old daughter that Rogue One is a story about girl power definitely isn’t a lie, but it’s probably not how they’d describe it on the movie poster either. Hyperdrive above for a map that will take your kids, spouse or parents from a Padawan to a Jedi Master.

Our August Faves

This month I have binged on Atypical, a new Netflix original about a boy named Sam on the Autism spectrum. My husband and son have bonded over The Legend of Bruce Lee. The rest of the family is doing their usual mix of Moana, Monster High, Paw Patrol and Max & Ruby. Thankfully when we can’t successfully do Netflix Persuasion we have enough tech to make everyone happy.

What are you watching this month?

Loving binge watching and I feel like we get pretty commited. Maybe not your level of commitment…we don’t stay up past 10:30 and he sure as heck wouldn’t want to watch without me, lol or I would not be very impressed but it’s so amazing how into some of these shows we get!

I’ve been doing an X FILES marathon and there’s 10 seasons so I needed a mini break but up next is Supernatural and there’s 12 seasons and counting so I’ll gone for a while.
