Fall Beauty Picks From Shoppers Drug Mart: Must-Haves

Changing seasons do horrible things to my skin and hair. H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E. They become dry and completely unmanageable. I break out and today my husband asked me why my hair looked like it had dreadlocks. Lucky for me I got some new goodies to help me get things back on track.

Well hello to hydrated skin thanks to the Yes To Coconut Head-to-Toe Hydrating Balm ($15.99). This is meant to go on your dryest body parts, think elbows, hands, knees and feet. Personally though the blend of virgin coconut, sweet almond and avocado oils is being used as an all over moisturizer because my skin feels like leather. It needs love and this is doing the job. Although its very hydrating it doesn’t leave that greasy film that I am not a huge fan of.

I remember buying the Life Brand Facial Masks when I was in grade 9 and there is a reason they are still around. They are not only convenient but also are great to target whatever issues your skin may be going through at the current time. Important to mention also is the $1.99 price tag which means its an affordable indulgence.

Whether it’s dark circles under my eyes or the crazy breakouts I am going through I rely on some magic once in a while to hide my imperfections. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, I love easy to use makeup. The Quo Cushion Concealer ($16) makes using it a breeze. Simply twist the tube until you hear the click and use the cushion top to apply a sheer, natural coverage.

They say your eyes are the windows to your soul so why not spend the $5 for a Joe Fresh Eyelash Curler? This one extra step will give your eyelashes that extra OOMPH needed to fake a bright-eyed look, even at school drop-off when the coffee is not yet working its magic.

I feel like this one is for the whole family and not just my dreadlocked hair. We have been using the Stylize detangling paddle brush for almost two years now (is there a shelf life on brushes?) and it gets lost all of the time. It is the only brush that will brush through our wet hair and the only one that our youngest daughter will let us use on her curls. We got this wide-tooth comb and its just as good as the brush if not better. It doesn’t pull, keeps the curls curly and stops the tears before they even come.

I don’t really have a beauty routine other than just washing my face with good ole water and using night cream in the winter to keep my skin hydrated, and that is just about it!

I live in an excessively dry area, and winter makes it worse. So I normally start dousing myself in moisturizers and balm.
