Stopping to Enjoy Your Baby’s Flood of “Firsts”

From the moment you find out you are expecting the flood of “firsts” begin. You are smitten when you have your first ultrasound and even more when you can finally feel your little one’s first kicks. It is easy to enjoy and savour those in utero “firsts” because you are not busy tending to a baby.

Finally there are those first contraction, your first real “push” and than that wonderful moment when you see your bundle of joy for the first time. Nothing could prepare you for the emotional roller coaster and the immense amount of love you felt in those first moments but you made it through.

First car ride, first time the baby rolled, even the first little smiles will all be met with joy. Baby was progressing and you’re the passenger side taking in all of the beautiful land marks.

When my son was born 7 years ago I was following guidelines and panicking every time he was not meeting milestones. Things like first words, first steps and first foods were meticulously documented and were almost like a badge of honour. But they went by so fast and I spent so much time documenting and anticipating them that I didn’t live them with my boy.

I missed out on a lot with my first two because I was so worried and with my last two I have taken a different (and better) approach. No more worrying about when those “firsts” will happen, because they will.

Aria has always been different from my first two. I spent hours in bed just playing with her, loving her, and most importantly just letting her be.

With two older siblings she was always on the go. She was my first to crawl (others rolled where they wanted to go) and she was going up and down the stairs from 9 months old. She has always kept us on our toes and we savoured every moment of it.

Now she is almost two and we are enjoying her first words. I was always so excited when first words were spoken because I knew soon after I would be blessed with a child that could tell me what they wanted, what they didn’t and also what I was doing wrong.

She is never shy to tell me to “GO” when I am trying to get some snuggles in and my favourite is when she screams “mom” at the top of her lungs. It means she needs me and I am always willing to come to her rescue or just to give her some extra love.

With Cyrus we are letting him go at his own pace as well because it allows us to just enjoy his successes. He is our last baby and those little firsts are actually our last “firsts” as parents. It is bittersweet but it makes us enjoy them even more. Life is good right now, it is good because those “firsts” are happening in the new Huggies Plus line, the most premium diaper on the market.

Little Snugglers & Little Movers PLUS

Last thing you want when you are trying to live life and enjoy your baby’s little accomplishments is to be changing diapers. When they are taking their first steps you don’t want to be concerned about the diaper being full, you need the maximum protection for the maximum time. Don’t know which ones to get?

Little Snugglers Plus are the perfect diapers when your baby is still little. Its GentleAbsorb Liner is the most absorbent and offers you a cushiony layer of protection unparalleled to others on the market. Available in sizes 1-2 they are a great prequel to when you move on to size 3 and beyond.little snugglers plus

Have a baby that is starting to move or just bigger like my little ones. Huggies Little Movers Plus come in sizes 3-6 and have a wonderful woven DryTouch Liner that helps keeps the mess in while your baby is on the go. With Double Grip Strips you can rest assured your diaper is staying put even when your little one isn’t.

Both diapers come in adorable Mickey and Friends design and I just cant get enough of the cute baby bums.

You can read my other Huggies post here if you want more info and a few weeks ago I did a video review of the Huggies Little Movers Plus and I showed you ALL of the great stuff they have to offer. Make sure you check it out.

Both of the Little Snugglers Plus and Little Movers Plus are available exclusively to Costco Canada and with boxes THIS big you will be spending less time shopping for diapers and more time on what matters, your cute babies.

We have our 5 month old grandson living with us and to watch him hit milestones is amazing. We now have a 7 day old granddaughter so we’ll get to watch a new baby hit her milestones. Watching my grandson discover his toes was a fun one to watch!
