Having Fun with Asmodee Board Games

Raise your hands if you went back to what seemed like prehistoric times when most of Canada went offline last month. I was so glad that we had a bunch of board games from our friends at Asmodee to keep us entertained.

So whether you’re looking to pad your board game cabinet in case the internet goes out again or whether you want to have some games for your cottage make sure to check out some of our faves.

Mysterium Park (MSRP:$59.99, 2-7 Players, Ages: 10+) A horrible crime was committed on the grounds of Warwick Manor, thirty years ago. Now, the mansion is haunted by the ghost of the murdered servant, and it’s up to a group of psychic investigators to get to the bottom of the mystery.

AZUL – Queen’s Garden King Manuel I has commissioned the best garden designers of Portugal to construct the most extraordinary garden for his wife, Queen Maria of Aragon. In Azul – Queen’s Garden, players are tasked to arrange a magnificent garden for the King’s lovely wife by arranging beautiful plants, trees, and ornamental features.

Using an innovative drafting mechanism, signature of the Azul series, players must carefully select colorful tiles to decorate their garden.

7 Wonders – Duel: Choose the Wonders you aim to build and guide your city through three Ages of drafting cards from cunningly shaped tableaus. Victory can be achieved in three ways: by invading your opponent’s capital, by achieving a monopoly on scientific advancement, or simply by crafting the city that will earn the most victory points in the end. To purchase 7 Wonders: Duel head here.

Wavelength (MSRP $49.99 – Ages 14+): Wavelength is a social guessing game in which two teams compete to read each other’s minds. Teams take turns rotating a dial to where they think a hidden bullseye is located on a spectrum. One of the players on your team — the Psychic — knows exactly where the bullseye is, and draws a card with a pair of binaries on it (such as: Job – Career, Rough – Smooth, Fantasy – Sci-Fi, Sad Song – Happy Song, etc). The Psychic must then provide a clue that is *conceptually* where the bullseye is located between those two binaries.

Spot It Camping Spot it! is a one-of-a-kind card game for every generation. Here’s the catch: there is always one and only one matching symbol between any two cards. Spot it to win! Race to find matches between gear, critters, nature, and more. Whether you’re cozy in a cabin, roughin’ it in a tent, or just in your own backyard, Spot it! Gone Camping captures everything you love about camping out.

I also love that our friends at Asmodee are working so hard to make sure that accessibility and inclusion are at the forefront for them by launching a new studio called Access+.

Access+ will adapt popular titles from the Asmodee catalog and make them more accessible to more players, including those who are neurodivergent (i.e., ADHD, Autism, speech, and language disorders), and those with cognitive difficulties. It’s important to Asmodee that they provide everyone the chance to come together around the table and have a board gaming blast.
