How Graco Lets Me Keep Working

Graco Glider LX Gliding Swing in Waterloo

Graco Glider LX Gliding Swing in WaterlooThis is my office…not much but it is where I spend my free moments so that I can get some sanity through my blog. I come in here in the early mornings when I am the only one awake, I come in here when the kids are taking naps, and I spend a lot of time here after the kids go to sleep for the night.

I have some new furniture in here lately though because with the arrival of baby #4, Cyrus has been keeping me company in his new Graco glider. I will be the first to admit that I am finding it hard to concentrate on work with such a cute (and quiet) little distraction in my sights.

With four kids you would think that I would have some experience with swings/gliders but I will let you in on a secret, we never really went that route. I owned a swing with my first born for about 5 days but found the swinging to be almost violent so it was quickly donated to the woman’s shelter. Maybe not the best route but I am glad we got the chance to review this beauty because it has been a game changer.

The last month of my pregnancy had me literally in a plank position and I couldn’t sit at all let alone in front of the computer for hours at a time. Now that little man has been born I need to get back to work but I am not ready to let him out of my sight.

This is where this glider comes into play. With me working for long periods of time I want him to be happy and preferably napping for as long as possible. When I place my little man into the seat he doesn’t even budge because the soft plush seat is also super cozy. It provides him with comfort and security which is so important when they are fresh out of the womb (and beyond).

It provides 2 different gentle vibrations, 6 different stages of swinging so that you can find one that suits baby, and there is also a great selection of 10 different melodies and 5 nature sounds with different volume controls. Currently the #2 choice leaves my little man happily swinging for 4 hours or so which is more than enough time for me to squeeze some work in.

With four kids there is A LOT of stuff in my house. No matter how much I always said my home would not be overrun with kids’ stuff, I lied. Toys are everywhere and this glider is compact and fits beautifully in a quiet corner in my office or when I want little man in the living room he gets his own little corner without taking up to much space. The little toy bar is removable and we are currently not using it because my toddler fell in love with it and won’t let her brother have it. Who am I to say no?

Did I mention that the glider is portable? I choose to plug mine in with the provided cord because of how long we use it (testament to its greatness) but if I wanted to bring it out with me to the front of the house or backyard it takes batteries

Right now with Mr. Man so small I choose to have him in a full recline, but with the option to change to one of three different positions with one hand, I am happy to know it can be done while holding baby. Also love the fact that there is a 5 point harness so that my helpful toddler can’t pick up her little brother when her heart desires. Graco recommends that this glider be used for babies 5.5-30 lbs which means you will get some good use from it.Graco Glider LX Gliding Swing in Waterloo

I have four kids, all four need my attention, and I am glad that I have something that mimics my cuddles and rocking for when my three older kids need some mommy love. I am also glad I have something that will give me some time to regain my sanity, which I do through my work.

The glider I have is in the Waterloo design and sold exclusively at Babies R Us.

For more information on the glider or any Graco product make sure you check out there site HERE and make sure you follow them on their Facebook page as they are always posting about their new products and having amazing giveaways where you can win some Graco products for yourself.

I think the biggest struggle when adding more kids to the mix is finding that perfect balance and for now I seem to be in a groove that is working thanks to this Graco Glider.

We had one of those “violent” swings. How things have changed in the past five years. My kids would have loved this gliding swing. Maybe I should have another one just to check 😉

We inherited a swing from another family member for our new grandson and he loves it. I’m sure he would love this one too, it looks a lot smaller than the one we have! Congrats on the new baby!

Sounds like a great swing. W@ill have to keep in mind for in the future, with my last child the swing took alot of batteries and that only lasted a day if that! So i usuaklly had to tie a string to it to rock it. Fun times!

This swing looks far more comfortable than the ones we have used the last couple of years and it takes up less precious space. I have had the old swingomatic for my older kids. That was more like a carnival ride lol you didn’t want to wind it up all the way! Getting them out still sleeping was a skill with a low success rate. My favorite was a Graco with jungle sounds but huge on space required . I am loving everything about this version.

Wow this is an awesome baby product. I think it’s way better than a swing although I know many kids that have slept peacefully in a swing too, but I think this would be much more productive
