Dream Kitchen Wishlist: LG InstaView™ Door-in-Door® Refrigerator and QuadWash™ Dishwasher

When I got to check out the new LG Kitchen full of amazing home appliances like the InstaView Door-in-Door® Refrigerator and QuadWash™ Dishwasher with TrueSteam® technology I opened up a Pandora’s Box for what my dream kitchen should look like.

My day starts and ends in the kitchen. With four kids and a constant stream of friends, family, and the neighbourhood kids popping in it seems like our food production and in turn, dishwashing is a constant thing at our home. Our current fridge is on its last lifeline and I’ve just spent the last hour on the LG website trying to find the perfect InstaView fridge.

Other than being the J.D. Power Award Winner for “Highest in Customer Satisfaction with French Door Refrigerators” it’s all the bells and whistles that truly set it apart. 

As a family of grazers, I love that I can easily knock on the front glass panel twice and see what is in the fridge. I am already imagining what I would be putting into the InstaView Door-in-Door compartment—sippy cups, cut up fruit and veg, coffee cream and the yogurt drinks the kids love so much. All the things that we would normally open the whole fridge for can now be easily accessed by only opening the door housed inside the door stopping the loss of the cold air within the main fridge and saving on our energy (and grocery) bills. 

Speaking of groceries, when we do our weekly shops we go all out. Considering my husband and I both work from home there is meal prep happening from 7 AM till after midnight some nights. We need the space to keep all our food and I love that the InstaView Door-in-Door has implemented the Slim SpacePlus® Ice System in the door and not taking up valuable shelf space that could be happily housing tonight’s dessert.

I have a soft spot for the 4-door model as I think the drawer is an absolute necessity with kids. Sometimes you need to keep some groceries at a different temperature than the other items and the CustomChill™ Drawer allows you to choose between Meat and Seafood -1C, Cold Drink 1C, Deli Snacks 3C, and Chilled Wine 5C with a push of a button. As if that was not amazing enough, this LG product also runs with SmartThinQ® Technology which sends you reminders if the door is open, helps to keep your unit working at peak performance (and helps with diagnosing issues) and even allows you to make more ice from your phone if you’ve decided to host an impromptu get together tonight.

Getting the Cleanest Dishes Possible with the QuadWash™ Dishwasher

I have a confession to make. My husband washes his dishes before he uses them even if he just took them from the dishwasher. This is an issue and one that drives me nuts because no amount of me telling him that water spots are not dirt makes him stop. I think the only way to actually stop the insanity is by taking him to try out the QuadWash™ Dishwasher from LG…do you think a local store will let us wash a load while we wait to see?

Mostly I want to show him the difference four spray arms make instead of two. With their ability to rotate back and forth while spinning the high power jets clean the dirty dishes from all angles and I am imagining a day when I don’t have to put extra space between my plates to ensure no food is stuck on after the cycle finishes. Partnered with TrueSteam® technology that reaches all of the contents in the unit, you receive up to 60% fewer water spots maybe meaning that my husband can stop washing dishes after the dishwasher does. A girl can dream, right? 

I was most intrigued though by how the actual QuadWash was set up for use. It had 3 racks instead of the two I was used to. The third (top) rack was great for cutlery, espresso cups and other items that could be laid down to wash and was actually a huge improvement on how to wash the cutlery as each piece had its own spot. 

Both the middle and top rack had adjustable heights which were a feature I didn’t know I needed until I saw it was an option. I hate that I have to run the dishwasher and do the dishes at my house. My cookie pans and stock pots don’t fit in my dishwasher but if I could adjust the height I could easily fit everything in the QuadWash saving me both time and money. I could spend that time gardening, playing outside with the kids or catching up on my fave show. 

Just like the InstaView fridge, the QuadWash also has the SmartThinQ Technology that will alert you when your load is done. Easily paired with Google Assistant or Alexa, know exactly how long is left in your cycle or run the cycle from the comfort of bed if you forgot to turn it on. Cleaner dishes are only a voice command away and it’s divine.
