Creamy Cucumber & Dill Salad

Creamy Cucumber & Dill

Creamy Cucumber & Dill

I grew up eating this creamy cucumber with dill salad. It is a staple in most Polish homes and one that I make over and over. Even my picky kids eat it up and often ask for mizeria (Polish name).

I remember having dill hanging in our kitchen above the sink, drying up so that my mom could chop it up and freeze it. We always had some and if it wasn’t being used in this salad, it was on baby potatoes that had been covered in butter or as a garnish for dill pickle soup.

When I was younger it was made with sour cream but since we rarely have sour cream in our fridge and we always have yoghurt, we substitute. This salad is perfect for the warm weather we are having right now and also provides a great way to take some of the kick out of the spicy food we eat.

I am doing this with 2% yoghurt but feel free to substitute to your preference or use sour cream if you want it authentic. Make sure you pin it for later as it is delicious

Your salad has everything I love! Must try it here at home. We planted dill in our wee herb garden so we could even dry our own. 🙂

I bought a huge planter full of dill, parsley, basil and oregano from Home Depot and I go to it daily. I am scared I will soon run out.
