Toys That Make the Holiday List + Giveaway

During the past year we’ve had the opportunity to work with some great brands and review their toys. Today I will be sharing some of my favourites from the past with a sprinkling of items that are going under the tree, but SHHH the kids don’t know 🙂

L.O.L. Surprise Dolls

L.O.L. stands for Lil Outrageous Littles and Series 2 has recently launched with 80+ new Surprise Tots, Lil Sisters and Charm Fizz bath bombs to collect. The largest ball, the L.O.L Surprise DOLL has 7 different layers with 7 different surprises like shoes, outfit, accessory, clues, stickers and the doll itself.

The medium sized ball is 5 layers of surprises and has a LIL Sister doll. The Charm Fizz is a bath bomb that reveals a special surprise.

For only the biggest fans, the limited edition L.O.L. Surprise! Big Surprise has 50 never before seen surprises inside and comes packed with layers of fun. The 12 inch Ball becomes a purse carrying case, storage case and bath playset for when your LO is done as well.

Luna Petunia + Friends

The star of the line is the Luna Petunia 14″ talking doll ($34.99). My daughter won’t put her down and loves how Luna springs to life with sounds from Amazia and some of her fave sayings…’I Petunia Promise’.

Paired with her beanie plush sidekicks Sammy Stretch, Karoo, and Bibi Bubbles ($10.99 each) you can really get the party started, or get the nap time cuddles started as my youngest prefers.

Amazia Garden Set ($19.99) has pieces from Luna’s beautiful garden. The Fabulosa Cafe Playset ($19.99) brings Chef Luna to life and even has a launcher that flies food across the cafe.

Tonka Tinys Rescue Response Station Playset (GIVEAWAY ITEM)

My son loves any types of cars, trucks, planes and trains–basically anything that moves. This three level Tonka Tiny set lets you launch vehicles over the flames, through the cinder block wall and down the main gravity ramp. It includes 3 exclusive Tinys vehicles but can store up to 8 on level one.

Playmobil

Playmobil has always been wonderful with bringing amazing playsets to our children’s lives. You can read our review on the PLAYMOBIL Berk Play Set from How To Train Your Dragon to see the kind of details that go into their sets.

Another hot item from the How to Train Your Dragon movie is the Drago’s Ship set. Suggested age is 5+, this set that lets your child join the bad side, if only for a little bit, and fight and trap dragons. Set includes Drago, spears, torch, ship and accessories.

Playmobil Ghostbusters Ecto-1 playset lets you speed through the city in the iconic Ecto 1. This legendary action vehicle has plenty of space for proton packs and ghost traps thanks to the detachable roof and can be combined with other playsets.

Playmobil 1.2.3. Night Train with Track (GIVEAWAY ITEM) is going under the tree for our LO as he has an obsession with trains currently. I really appreciate the bigger rounded pieces in this set for children aged 18 months and up.

Santa’s Workshop and NHL Rivalry on the Pond Advent Calendars are both a fun way to get into the holiday spirit without the sugar rush of traditional advent calendars. Each day 1 piece is revealed and on Christmas, the whole set is unveiled.

Awesome Little Green Men

Awesome Little Green Men just what they sound like, a military collectible that combines blind-boxed soldiers and vehicles with gameplay experience. An 8 Piece Deluxe Battle Pack Series 1 has everything you need to battle but you can also add a Starter Pack or Blind Box to get on your way to collect all 100 pieces.

Worry Eaters

I love the concept of these plush toys, mostly because I have a couple of kids who seem to have some issues being worried and scared at times. The idea is that your LO will tell their cuddly friend their deepest worries and fears by writing them down on a piece of paper that will be put into the Worry Eaters mouth and zippered shut. The Worry Eater will gobble up the fears (with help from adults) and hopefully your LO will get some relief.

They come in both small and large sizes and are available in specialty toy stores and select bookstores across Canada.

Enchanted Forest Observation Puzzle

I used to love doing activities like this observation puzzle as a child. This 100-piece puzzle set allows kids to work on their fine motor skills and cognitive skills. Once put together they can continue the fun by finding the items shown around the border in the main image. Great activity to keep them busy while you prepare dinner or need to catch up on some work.

Felt Brushes/ Nymphea (GIVEAWAY ITEM)
