I used to count my lucky stars that my kids had no big allergies and food aversions. They are lactose intolerant which would give them tummy issues but it was not leaving them gasping for air so I still considered myself one of the lucky ones.

It wasn’t until my kids hit school that the importance of allergen-free snacks really hit home. Not because I realized my kids came into contact with other kids with allergies but because my kids would watch me pack lunches like hawks so that they didn’t harm one of their friends. That was eye-opening.

When Friends Are Allergic to Everything

Fast forward a few years and the amazing kids down the street who are best friends with my two older kids are actually allergic to a whole bunch of stuff. Their dad tried to explain it all to me but when the list got so long he finally told me that they would be happy with apples. Apples are great and all but I do feel bad handing my kids a chocolate granola bar when their friends are eating apples. So we set out searching for snacks that all the kids could eat together. Ones that would be delicious and safe. We found them in FreeYumm.

So here is the thing. I have since learned that nut-free was not enough and knew I had to go more broad with allergens but it wasn’t until I discovered FreeYumm snacks that I found out I could actually make my own little peoples tummies hurt less as well.

My best friend has children with severe allergies and it seems like a nightmare to prepare lunches or even snacks. There’s not as many allergen free products on the market as you would think . I’ll have to pass along the name of this product, thanks .

Thank you so much for sharing! I’m always looking for something new to put into the kids lunches that is healthy as well as safe for those who have food allergies. I’m going to pass this information onto a friend of mine. Her niece has severe food allergies. She often has to buy safe snack products from specialty shops in the states. She will be thrilled to find out about this new product!

I love this product so much. Even when snacks don’t list my daughter’s allergens, there’s often the clause “may contain …” because the product was made in a factory that also processes other foods. FreeYumm’s dedicated bakery is so reassuring. I can feel confident that my daughter won’t be harmed by cross-contamination.

These look awesome! I also love when I can serve the same snack to everyone in the group and not have any of the kids feel different, as that definitely is a concern of most of the kids we know with allergies. And I never want to take a chance with someone’s health, so it’s great to have something to grab and not worry about. We’ll have to pick some up for sure!

I didn’t have to worry about food allergies for my daughter or classmates when she was in school. I want to try these for myself!

It’s crazy the number of allergies affecting kids these days. I had just about given up tryin to please everyone. I appreciate you doing the leg work here. Now I can be a snack hero. 🙂
